Shelter Insurance® and Central Bank of Boone County Launch Veterans in Poverty Food Drive

COLUMBIA, MO – November 1, 2016 - From November 1-15, 2016, Shelter Insurance® and Central Bank of Boone County are teaming up to collect food and personal care items for The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri's VIP Veteran Pack program. This program was launched by The Food Bank for the approximately 650 Veterans in Boone County who live at or below the poverty line.

Items being collected include pop-top canned entrees and fruit, peanut butter, toothbrushes, deodorant, razors, soap and body wash. Donations can be dropped off at any Shelter Insurance agent's office and any Central Bank of Boone County location.

Jay MacLellan, Media Relations Director for Shelter said, "We are pleased to team up with Central Bank of Boone County to raise awareness for The Food Bank's VIP Veterans Pack program. Our veterans have sacrificed so much for our country, and this is one way we can thank and help them. It's especially nice that Veterans Day falls in the middle of the drive. It will be a great way for citizens of Boone County to honor our local Veterans."
