Claims Quick Estimate Process
If you’ve ever been in a car accident, you know how stressful it can be. Making matters worse are the current supply chain issues that are causing delays in getting cars fixed. During that time, you’re without your car or in a rental vehicle if you have that coverage. Since you’d probably rather be in your own car, neither of these scenarios is ideal. It probably feels like it takes a really long time for your car to be fixed and the claim to be settled. In an effort to speed things up, Shelter has implemented the Quick Estimate process.
What is Quick Estimate?
Quick Estimate allows you to take photos of your vehicle after an accident and quickly send them to us using a special text link. That link walks you through the process, which is easy and seamless, allows a quick estimate and helps us pay you much more quickly than waiting on photos from others.
What if You Don’t Want to Participate in Quick Estimate?
No worries--you still have the option to choose traditional methods to resolve your claim. It will take the same amount of time to resolve your claim using traditional methods as it always has. The Quick Estimate process is just an option meant to speed up the traditional claims process.
Whether you choose to use the Quick Estimate process or the traditional process, you have to first file your claim. You can do this by calling 1-800-SHELTER (1-800-743-5837) or logging on to your My Shelter account to report it. You can also file a claim using the My Shelter app. Our claims adjusters guide you through your next steps so you can get your claim resolved.
