What to Expect When You Make a Homeowners Claim
Your home is your safe haven, so naturally, anything that might cause an insurance claim is distressing. Shelter’s claims adjusters understand and are ready to help you through the process.
While some home claims may be smaller than others, there are times when you need to take pictures of the damage, then take immediate action to prevent more damage to your house. You may need to relocate temporarily, and our adjusters can provide guidance for how that works. Early reporting of your claim, especially after a severe storm, is important.
To make a claim, call us at 1-800-SHELTER (1-800-743-5837) or log on to your My Shelter account to report it. Our claims team understand this is a difficult situation for you and will do their best to make the process as quick and easy as possible. Once your claim is reported, an adjuster will contact you and explain the process.
