Rewarding Your Hard Work
We value our agents' contributions to the Shelter family and want to reward them for their hard work. Working as one of our agents, you'll have the freedom to be your own boss on a day-to-day basis, but you will also benefit from the excellent support our companies provide. We pride ourselves on providing significant income security while you build your agency book of business. As an agent, your income will grow dramatically based on your efforts and results.
Depending on the size of the agency assumed, you may be eligible to receive subsidies that help provide income and cover expenses while you build your book of business. In addition, smaller agencies are eligible for partial reimbursement of staff. You will receive a commission for both new and renewal sales of Shelter's products.
The Transitional Agent Contract program allows you to begin your career as an independent contractor, with a contract, while working towards the opportunity to become a longer term independent contractor.
Shelter Insurance® agents are independent contractors, not employees of Shelter Insurance. As such, our agents are subject to a written contract. These agents may employ agency staff, who are not employees of Shelter Insurance.
