COLUMBIA, MO – April 19, 2021 – Shelter Insurance® has been a partner with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) for more than 30 years. These organizations share a mission to help educate consumers, policymakers and safety professionals through research and evaluation of different types of vehicles. They work to help improve vehicle design, driver behavior and roadway design to reduce deaths, injuries and property damage from motor vehicle crashes.

IIHS elected Dan Clapp, Executive Vice President for Shelter Insurance® as the Chair of its Board of Directors from July 1, 2020 until December 31, 2021. Clapp has been an IIHS Board member since 2012.
