New and Safe Tree Lighting Ceremony at Shelter Insurance®

COLUMBIA, MO – Shelter Insurance® will present its 55th annual tree lighting ceremony at the company’s home office in Columbia on December 3. Due to precautions being taken for COVID-19, this year’s event will be different than previous years. Shelter has worked with Columbia officials to adapt the ceremony to meet the necessary safety requirements to host the event. Unlike previous years, spectators will not be allowed to gather around the tree. Instead, spectators will participate in a drive-thru event. From 6 - 7:30 p.m., drivers will enter the Shelter campus from Ash Street by Shelter Gardens and be directed to the front of the building where the tree is located along West Broadway. Santa Claus will wave to visitors as they drive by the tree. A traffic map is attached to this release and will also be posted on our Shelter Insurance® Facebook page.
